On 26 April 1884, the World's Fair of Italian Art and Industry opened in Turin's Parco del Valentino.  The initiative was quite successful and one of the principle reasons for its success was a very peculiar "pavilion": the Medieval Village and Fortress, works promoted by a dedicated commission joined soon by Alfredo D'Andrade, a wealthy Portuguese scholar of Italian architecture, specializing in the Medieval style.  Each architectural, decorative and furnishing element of the Medieval Village is reproduced with philological precision from original models of the 15th century, traced to that epoch in Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta,

In the 120th anniversary of the Medieval Village,  la  Torino Musei Foundation  sets up  many events starting april 24th with the Festa Grande and going on  along 2004 with shows, exhibitions and labs.
